Backyard missionUganda is a non–governmental organization focused on providing free home repair to those in need. Whether the greatest need is roof replacement, painting, simple carpentry work or other minor repairs.

All services are provided at no charge through the use of volunteer work crews and donated funds. Its primary purpose is to improve housing for people in need by providing free home repairs, roofing, painting, cleaning up, etc.

Backyard mission – Uganda was founded in January 2004 with its Head quarters in Kampala, Makindye division, Kabalagala parish, Muzana zone, under the Directorship of Mr. Senoga Joseph.

Backyard Mission - Uganda was started with the help of the U.S.based Backyard Mission which is an outreach program from LakeRidge UMC Lubbock Texas, founded in September 1992 by Laurie Foster who is the current Director.


In its first phase Backyard mission Uganda has managed to repair approximately six (6) houses in the community. In the second phase the mission has set up a program of expanding its activities to all parts of Uganda.

Though administered by a Church, Backyard mission – Uganda seeks relationship with all religious denominations. Backyard mission - Uganda is non-profit organization, which solely works on voluntary labor and donated funds. It is not funded by any church budget
